UP Mathletes is a math competition divided into two levels, one for middle schoolers and one for high schoolers. It is a fast-paced buzzer-based competition with team rounds and 1v1 rounds, challenging students with questions based around real-life and everyday applications of math concepts. Schools can register teams of 3-5 students and up to 2 teams total. The competition covers the math categories of algebra, geometry, and statistics, though topics may vary by level. The UP Mathletes competitions are localized to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, aiming at providing and promoting more academic competitions for UP students, encouraging a love for math and other related fields, and making math fun!

UP Mathletes is a math competition started by Upper Peninsula high schooler Zakiyyah Adebiyi. It is a math competition that was created to support her love for math and to share it with others. UP Mathletes was also created to introduce more academically challenging competitions to UP students and to bring together students who enjoy math. Zakiyyah is very passionate about math, science, and wants to pursue a career in a STEM related field. UP Mathletes was started in 2026.
